Michael L. McDonald & Associates, Incorporated, was established in March, 2001 to service companies wanting to improve their product and service quality and improve their practices. Our services include Training and Continuing Support in Design and Quality Methods, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) Classes, and Taguchi Methodology Design of Experiments. Our courses are developed for Engineering, Quality, Production, Purchasing and Management employees, suppliers and customers.
The courses we offer are specifically designed to clearly teach application, so students leaving the class know how to think and what to do. Students will be able to recognize and apply proper statistical techniques and how to respond to a wide range of methods, statistics and graphical techniques. Our training philosophy does this by using dozens of case study examples for each statistical method:
to teach improvement opportunity and problem recognition,
to accurately define the situation under study
to use proper and appropriate data collection, analysis, and interpretation techniques, and
to permanently improve the product and process quality and working practices.

Michael L. McDonald is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Quality Engineer (American Society for Quality), who worked in quality improvement training and application from 1982 to 2000 at Delphi Automotive Systems (formerly known as Delco Remy, Division of General Motors). He taught approximately 150 classes to over 2500 students in a simple, accurate and enjoyable style. He is an enthusiastic and helpful leader and has earned many loyal customers who refer their peers, employees, bosses and friends to his outstanding classes. One engineering supervisor used to tell his new employees, "Find out whatever classes Mike McDonald is teaching and you take them all." |
His classes have included Statistical Process Control to all functions and levels, Taguchi Design of Experiments to technical and non-technical people, validation planning and interpretation, and quality management including QS-9000 implementation.
In 2000 he started his own company, Michael L. McDonald & Associates, Incorporated, located in Anderson, to offer quality classes and continuing statistical support. His customers primarily include, manufacturing and service organizations, individuals, and companies in East Central Indiana.
